The U.S. Auto Tech National Championship Driven by Yokohama was created in 2021 to showcase the incredible skills of auto technician professionals and students across the country, while elevating the awareness and importance of trade jobs across the globe. The top Auto Technicians went through multiple qualifying rounds testing their skills and knowledge, culminating in an all-expense paid trip to Tampa, Florida for their chance to over $100k.
The top technicians will go head-to-head on a national stage, using their industry knowledge to beat out the competition and take home their share of $115,000 in cash and prizes.

3rd Place: Andy Buehler $10,000
1st Place: Yanick Tanguay $25,000
2nd Place: Randy Giroux $15,000
3rd Place: Youssef Kissa $5,000

There were two ways to qualify for this year’s 2023 U.S. Auto Tech National Championship, either at an in-person qualifier or through the digital Driven to Win challenge. At the end of each month during this round, professionals and students with the highest quiz scores or fastest qualifying times were selected to advance to the next phase of the competition, the Round of 64.
The top professionals and top students from the in-person qualifiers and Driven to Win challenges automatically qualified for the Round of 64 Presented by ASE. The Round of 64 was an online multiple-choice quiz with questions provided by ASE.
The top 16 students and top 16 professionals with the highest scores advanced to the next round.
The top professionals and top students from the Round of 64 challenge automatically qualified for the Round of 16 presented by Garage Gurus and University of Northwestern Ohio.
The Round of 16 was a hands-on at-home kit that was mailed to competitors.
The top 4 professionals and top 4 students from the Round of 16 stamped their all-expense paid ticket to Tampa, Florida to compete in the U.S. Auto Tech National Championship Driven by Yokohama. The competition was fierce as the competitors went head-to-head for their share of over $100k.
