The U.S. Auto Tech National Championship Driven by Yokohama was created in 2021 to showcase the incredible skills of auto technician professionals and students across the country, while elevating the awareness and importance of trade jobs across the globe. Auto Technicians are invited to showcase their skills and go head-to-head at our national championship in Tampa, FL for their chance to win cash prizes and be crowned the 2023 U.S. Auto Tech National Champion.

 

WHAT’S AT STAKE

The top technicians will go head-to-head on a national stage, using their industry knowledge to beat out the competition and take home their share of $115,000 in cash and prizes.

 

PROFESSIONALS

1st Place: $40,000 | 2nd Place: $20,000 | 3rd Place: $10,000

 

STUDENTS

1st Place: $25,000 | 2nd Place: $15,000 | 3rd Place: $5,000

 

WAYS TO QUALIFY

STEP ONE:
NOW CLOSED

There were two ways to qualify for this year’s 2023 U.S. Auto Tech National Championship, either at an in-person qualifier or through the digital Driven to Win challenge. At the end of each month during this round, professionals and students with the highest quiz scores or fastest qualifying times were selected to advance to the next phase of the competition, the Round of 64.

 

STEP TWO:
ADVANCE TO THE ROUND OF 64 PRESENTED BY ASE

The top professionals and top students from the in-person qualifiers and Driven to Win challenges automatically qualified for the Round of 64 Presented by ASE. The Round of 64 was an online multiple-choice quiz with questions provided by ASE.
 

The top 16 students and top 16 professionals with the highest scores advanced to the next round.

 

STEP THREE:
ADVANCE TO THE ROUND OF 16

The top professionals and top students from the Round of 64 challenge automatically qualified for the Round of 16.
 

The Round of 16 is a hands-on, at-home kit that will be mailed to competitors.

 

STEP FOUR:
PACK YOUR BAGS!

The top 4 professionals and top 4 students with the highest Round of 16 score will pack their bags and enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Tampa, FL for the U.S. Auto Tech National Championship Driven by Yokohama where they will compete head-to-head for their chance to win the title of the 2023 U.S. Auto Technician of the Year.
